Osborne supports budding scientists for National Science Week

Osborne supported National Science Week 2014 by taking part in a ‘Primary Chemistry at Work Event’ in Bromley in Kent, organised by the Bromley Education Business Partnership.

The aim of the event was to introduce and explore the importance of science and how it is influential in many different jobs and career paths.

130 year 5 and year 6 students from schools across Bromley attended the event, where they took part in four workshops throughout the day. We worked alongside representatives from the London Fire Brigade, Prospects Career Service and Newstead Wood School to deliver the workshops.

Students in our Osborne workshop experimented with different types of structures, using spaghetti and marshmallows to discover the best shapes which can be used to build the strongest structure.

Osborne Community Investment Manager, Neal Allison, explained, “It was an excellent day which introduced the pupils to the construction industry and the importance of science.”
