Osborne to Repair Surrey Railway Banking

Osborne is due to start work at West Clandon near Guildford in Surrey, later this month, repairing the embankment that has started to slip.

The three month £800,000 project will see Osborne address the drainage as well as repair and reinforce the embankment through the use of sheet piling, which is where large metal sheets are driven vertically down into the banking, designed to prevent any future slips.

Osborne will be undertaking the majority of the scheme during the day and the repairs are not expected to affect the passing rail services, keeping disruption to a minimum.

Steve Early, Senior Site Manager from Osborne said: “We’re looking forward to getting on site at West Clandon and reinforcing the embankment as this work will help to eliminate the possibility of any future slips.”
