‘Another Brick in the Wall’ – Osborne Start Bridge Work in Kent

Osborne has started brickwork repairs to a railway bridge at Bekesbourne Viaduct, in Canterbury, Kent.

The works consist of structural repairs to the brickwork and painting to the diaphragm of the bridge. This essential work will help prolong the life of the bridge, saving time and money in the future.

Osborne will carry out the work, overnight, to help minimise any disruption to road users. The Osborne team will also take the opportunity to clear vegetation and tidy the area around the viaduct.

Huw Abbey, Route Programme Manager at Network Rail said: “This is a good opportunity for Osborne to develop their Minor Civils capability and to provide healthy competition in another area.”

Valued at 120k, Osborne is due to complete the works and hand back to Network Rail by the end of November.
