Osborne and Innovaré Win Place on Southern Modular Framework

Osborne and off-site specialist division, Innovaré Systems have won a place on the prestigious Southern Modular Framework, awarded by Hampshire County Council.
The duo have been appointed to Lot 3, which covers schemes ranging from £100,000 to £3 million and Lot 4 with schemes in excess of £3 million. Both require bespoke ‘modular’ buildings with over 60 years design life. This works specifically to a design or layout, including primary schools, secondary schools, classroom extensions, dormitory buildings and a wide range of community buildings.

Alec Harris, Osborne Framework Manager said; “The i-SIP System is a hybrid, using structural insulated panels (SIPs) and other optional off-site elements including steel and precast concrete to give greater flexibility in design and high performance in terms of thermal stability, acoustic properties and limiting both vibration and deflection in the finished product.”

The buildings will be designed as permanent structures and the external finishes will reflect this, using forms more usually associated with traditionally built structures such as brick work, brick slips, render, or curtain walling. The buildings will be formed from i-SIP panels, clad either externally on-site or off-site and delivered to be quickly assembled on site, saving time and money for customers.

Projects delivered using our i-SIP System have ranged from exemplar architectural projects to the Government’s cost driven and technically demanding Priority Schools Building Programme. Previously Osborne and Innovaré have delivered a batch of eight schools on the iESE Framework for Hampshire County Council. This averaged programme savings of 7% and financial benefits exceeding £104,000.
