Hertfordshire Bridge Works Progressing Well

Work to build a bridge over a railway line, in Apsley in Hertfordshire is progressing well.
The team are  a quarter of the way through the scheme and they have completed the construction of the temporary site bypass road.

Next month, the team will remove the existing steel footbridge during a weekend railway possession using a 400 tonne mobile crane.

Once this is complete, they will be able to switch the diverted flow of traffic for the second time to allow them to gain access to the railway and start the bridge construction works, which will begin in the New Year.

Osborne’s bridge and road works are due to be completed by Spring 2018.
