Walthamstow pupils pass mock interview test with flying colours

Osborne recently gave students at Walthamstow School for Girls the chance to experience a real-life interview.
And just to up the stakes slightly, we invited local politician, Councillor Khevyn Limbajee, to be part of our panel.

Along with other businesses in the area – including partners, Aston Group – we had been asked to carry out mock interviews with the students as part of the commitment by Walthamstow School for Girls to promoting job opportunities and preparing their students for the world of work.

Pupils were asked a series of questions by the panel and were asked to answer as if they were applying for a role at Osborne Property Services.

Carol Bailey, Managing Director of Osborne Property Services, said: ‘We’re always pleased to support professional interviews across the areas in which we work.

‘It’s a really useful way for businesses to support their local community – something which is really important to us. It’s also an opportunity for us to spot potential future talent for our own business.’

Councillor Limbajee said: ‘This was an inspiring event to be involved with. I was really impressed to see how prepared students were and how well they managed to answer the questions thrown at them. I would encourage more events like this as it creates opportunity and builds positive confidence for our next generation.’

What the students said:

‘Luca was so nice! I was quite scared about having my interview and he made me feel calm and welcome.’

‘I was excited to meet Councillor Limbajee as I thought it would be a unique opportunity. He was really down to earth and kind. He made me feel more confident about my career choices.’

‘Neal was really professional. He asked me probing questions and took his time to explain changes I could make with my application. I’m very grateful.’
