Tracks, Troughing and Training Receives Good Feedback

Basingstoke Rail Operating Centre (ROC) is the Network Rail (NR) Headquarters in Wessex and is also their site for training.
The Osborne Minor Works team have been on site there with the job to install various concrete bases, cabinets and troughing along the three lengths of track used for training.

The work, when complete will be extremely life like and perfect for training use.

The location of the NR site is in full view of the NR Headquarters building and feedback from the customer has been complimentary, commenting on the high level of  detail when it comes Osborne’s site supervision.

Recently, the Minor Works Team at Osborne has been receiving some great feedback from their customer, Network Rail, after helping them to solve their problems.

This includes some work they carried out on the ceiling replacement of a train station at Aldershot and garden wall at Templecombe in Somerset.

The feedback from the customer was: “Just a quick note to say how impressed I have been with your staff. I have a fantastic working relationship with them and have given them some work recently which had been giving me a headache. I got your guys in and they organised it really well and made a fantastic job of it. Both jobs were carried out to a very high standard… you have a good bunch of lads.”
Also receiving praise from the customer, was the Portacabin modules project in Eastleigh, Hampshire. The handling, precision and detailed planning here was key, as it is very close to the railway and right next to Southampton Airport.

Last month, the Minor Works Team led on a  job to remove two Victorian bridges over the train line between Hackbridge and Mitcham, south London. The team worked tirelessly over a weekend to remove these two Victorian bridges, known as Hundred Acre and Irrigation bridges.  The team worked alongside its supply chain partners to make sure there was engagement with local stakeholders, residents and ecological specialists to ensure that the way in which they removed the structures minimised the impact to the surrounding ecology.
Feedback from the Programme Manager at Network Rail about the Victorian Bridge removal was that the weekend work was a; “success and a great weekends work all round.”
