New Cycle Hub Helping Pedal Power Fans Get into Gear

Dacorum Borough Council is working in partnership with Watford Cycle Hub to open a new community Cycle Hub in Hemel Hempstead on Sunday 14 May.
The Mayor of Dacorum Cllr Robert McLean will officially open the Cycle Hub at 1pm with the event running from 11-3pm.

Julie Still, Group Manager (Resident Services) said:  “We want to make cycling journeys safer and easier and promote cycling as a safe fun and healthy way to travel.
“The Dacorum Cycle Hub is a great place to meet other cyclists and is open to seasoned cyclists as well as families and those just starting out.  The new Hub is a ‘one-stop shop’ for everything to do with bikes, including repairs, cycle hire, riding skills and training as well as information and advice.  You don’t have to be a cyclist to enjoy the Hub, all are welcome”.

The new Cycle Hub can be found next to the adventure playground in Woodhall Farm and Grovehill, off Redbourn Road in Hemel Hempstead. It’s close to the Nicky Line which is one of Dacorum’s most popular cycling routes.

The new Hub has an excellent starting and/or finishing point for rides and will offer a variety of facilities:
• Free guided social rides
• Servicing and repairs
• Café
• Bike hire
• Bike registering
• Reconditioned bikes for sale

Kate Jenkins General Manager Watford Cycle Hub said; “Dacorum Cycle Hub is a great opportunity for people to get out on a bike and discover the enjoyment of cycling and the local countryside. Cycling is a great way to get to work or school.  We’re here to help you, so there’ll always be a warm friendly welcome, and whilst you’re here you can share a coffee with friends and make new ones along the way.”
