Run Osborne Run!

Osborne running club took to the leafy roads of Surrey to take part in the YMCA Fun Run on Sunday.
Now in its it’s it 18th year, the run attracted runners from across the county of all ages with the aim to promote enjoying a healthy lifestyle no matter what your ability!

With a record total of 1647 registrations on the day, five Osborne runners joined other enthusiasts at the start line in the historic Reigate Priory Park which included Superwomen, a pretty in pink dolly as well as a few fluttering fairies!

Paul McCulloch, Group Support Services Improvement Manager for Osborne was the first of the Osborne Team to cross the finish line, closely followed by his son, Connor, in just 39 minutes.

Paul commented;  ‘This is a great family event to be a part of.  With the option to run the five mile or one mile as well as the opportunity for kids to enter their own age group race means it’s really inclusive for everyone.”

Ian Burks, CEO of YMCA East Surrey who recently completed the London Marathon said; “The Fun Run was a huge success and with our record number of runners this year we hope to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to take up running as a lifelong habit. All the proceeds from this event will go towards our new Inclusive Sports Facility which will enable everyone regardless of ability or status to take part in sport and physical activity.”

Osborne has continued to sponsor the YMCA Fun Run and looks forward to next years, which is already confirmed for Sunday 6th May.
