A Different Angle- May’s Mental Health Awareness Week

There has been a lot of coverage in the press recently about tackling mental health and that we must do more, not just as an industry but as a nation.
Mental Health Awareness Week 2017 takes place from 08 – 14 May 2017 and this year looks at mental health from a different angle.

Good mental health is more than the absence of a mental health problem. So rather than ask why so many people are living with mental health problems, why not try to understand why too few of us are thriving with good mental health?

With people struggling to cope with the demands of life and stuck on getting through the day, the Mental Health Organisation are exploring:-
-How many of us are surviving or thriving?
-What is the difference between the two?
-Why some communities are under strain and what the Government can do to support them to thrive?
-What steps we can take to look after our mental health?
-How can we build resilience to cope with the demands of life?
