Birchwood Lane Bridge – Positive precedent for future works in Land Acquisition

At Birchwood Lane Bridge in Oxshott, Surrey, the Osborne team recently completed a scheme to strengthen an existing underbridge. Access had to be arranged through a private road with houses costing in the millions and then through land owned by the Crown Estate.
This was also made even more difficult as the team had to close the public bridleway that passes below the bridge. As recognised by our customer, through considerate management and communication with all stakeholders and the general public the project was successfully completed with minimal disruption and zero complaints!

A Network Rail Scheme Project Manager said: “…I am pleased to report that we received no complaints from any neighbours during the works which is no mean feat… I hope that this job can be used as a positive precedent for future works.”
