The £34 million framework agreement between Osborne and the London Borough of Redbridge will ensure education facilities in Redbridge are among the best in the UK, and set standards for other Local Authorities to follow.
Winston Way is the first school to be finished in Redbridge, with Cranbrook Primary School completed this year. Together the new schools will create 1,470 new primary school and nursery places, and will enable more local children to benefit from the high standards of education that Redbridge is renowned for.
The new school facilities are being built to address a shortfall in the number of primary places and to meet the growing demand for school places in the borough.
Pupils will benefit from high quality accommodation, with modern teaching and support facilities, integrated IT and internet connection, video teaching/conferencing, purpose designed areas for play and sport plus a children's centre and nursery.
The facilities at the new schools will also directly benefit the local community, as they will provide areas for use in the evenings and weekends.
