Osborne has completed the construction services for this high profile project which provides the London School of Economics with 12,600m2 of adaptable teaching space over eleven storeys on the site of an existing building. The original Edwardian stone facade has been retained and a new steel framed structure constructed behind.
The new building features a combination of restored stone, slate and modern structural glazing. The basement houses a 450-seat lecture theatre with unobstructed views, which has been achieved by “hanging” the structure from massive trusses at the top of the building.
