Osborne is set to announce details of the country’s first habitable Level 5 of the ‘Code for Sustainable Homes’ homes at the CIH South East Annual Conference and Exhibition on 4-6 March in Brighton.
The Mid Street affordable housing scheme, in South Nutfield, Surrey is being built by Osborne on behalf of client Raven Housing Trust and is due to complete in April 2008. On completion, the new residents will be moving in and will experience first hand what it is like to live in a truly sustainable home. Mid Street’s environmental performance will be monitored by the Energy Saving Trust.
Osborne is also making strides in the refurbishment of existing homes at Midmoor Road in Clapham, south London. In a joint venture with client Family Mosaic to refurbish an older property to improve its eco rating, the work utilitised many innovative features to reduce impact on the environment and the resident’s energy bills.
