Trainee of the Year 2008

John LambertOsborne's annual Trainee of the Year Award was announced on the14th November.

The award went to John Lambert, who joined Osborne as an Assistant Site Manager in June 2006. After completing his initial site experience John has progressed to his surveying  experience on Dartford Campus before completing his buying experience in Reigate, estimating experience on a number of major projects in the £40 - £60 million bracket and Design and Build experience on the Neat’s Court project.

Through very busy times in each of his placements this year John has managed to keep his University Studies on track and this June he was awarded a First Class Honours Degree in Construction Engineering from Kingston University, no mean feat for someone studying on a day release basis.

John has impressed everyone he has worked with this year with one mentor describing him as follows:

It is refreshing to encounter a trainee with such guile, ability, discipline and enthusiasm who has the companies interest at heart.  Above all a willingness to learn and take responsibility for his actions makes John the ideal candidate for trainee of the year.

Finally throughout the year John has given regular feedback on the composition of his training programme not just regarding his own personal programme but also suggesting ways in which the programme can be improved for those who will follow him.
