Osborne has extensive experience of partnering with public sector clients, and has developed this expertise by establishing an active involvement in the PFI/PPP arena, both as an investor and as a main contractor. Our core areas of PFI/PPP activity are affordable housing, community health, social care and education.

The Osborne investment team can draw on all the company’s skills and expertise to offer clients an inclusive solution, providing investment, construction, and where appropriate, managed services. Our ability and desire to invest also enables us to assist partners on more traditional projects that require funding to realise them. Our team provides innovative, value for money solutions delivered through a collaborative approach.

This traditional open partnership approach has been well received by our public sector partners and has assisted us in securing and operating the following schemes since 2006:

• Caring 4 Croydon – four care homes providing a total of 150 residential and nursing places, 40 extra care flats and 128-day care spaces, including a specialist dementia care unit.
• Young Herts – 14 schemes for young children consisting of five children’s homes and two adolescent resource centres as well as the refurbishment of eight family support centres in Hertfordshire.
• LIFT – two projects in South West Hampshire: a mental health scheme and a primary care scheme including an NHS walk-in centre, GP surgeries, space for practitioners with special interests, physiotherapy, a musculoskeletal clinic, areas for advice sessions such as healthy eating and smoking cessation, and a pharmacy.
• A Healthy Living Centre in Aylesham, Kent, and key worker accommodation at QEQM Hospital in Margate.

The relationships we have built have been recognised nationally through PFI and local government awards. During May 2008 the Young Herts PFI Consortium was awarded the 'Best Community/User Involvement in a Project' award at the 2008 Public Finance Awards.
