Osborne is involved in the delivery of many urban infrastructure services that people rely on in their everyday lives, including transport, communications, leisure and waste disposal facilities. Building and providing these essential services requires an understanding of the specific needs of individual communities involved.
Our expertise in this area includes distributor roads, civic amenity and recycling facilities. We also undertake schemes to improve public open spaces, including parks, promenades and footbridges. Clients in this sector range from local authorities to the Ministry of Defence, waste specialist Onyx, mobile phone company Orange, Network Rail and NHS Trusts.

We know that urban infrastructure work can be disruptive for the public, with traffic and pedestrian diversions an unavoidable necessity. However, we always try to work closely with the community to identify areas of concern before a scheme starts. We also aim to keep noise and dust to an absolute minimum and to make every effort to keep local residents and businesses informed about the work.
We have developed positive relationships with local schools that result in pupils working with our teams to learn about the project.
We are very aware that our clients in this sector often work within very tight funding constraints. Early involvement allows us to add value by suggesting alternative solutions, identifying potential savings, advising on funding options, and looking creatively at maximising existing assets.
I would like to add that it has been a pleasure being involved with this project (Milton and Kemsley Distributor Road) as everyone I have had dealings with concerning its construction has displayed true professionalism and a spirit of co-operation.
Graham Currie, Area Project Engineer, Kent County Council.
