I've been with Osborne 10 years now; in fact I finished my 10 years last September. I'm a Construction Manager; I started life with Osborne as Project Manager. 10 years ago we were doing small jobs. The idea was to build the London business up and do bigger jobs and we've gone from about a million pound jobs to what you see now, £35 million plus.
I've found them a good company to work for. Quality, people around me, teamwork, good governors. Can't do enough for a good governor they say - and also the support staff that I've had round me. I like to feel that one of my strengths is building teams and I've built teams over the 10 years to do interesting difficult projects, challenging projects and I've always enjoyed and been satisfied with the people I've worked with.
I knew Geoffrey (Osborne) personally in that he was alive when I started with the company and he used to come to see all the jobs I did in London until his recent death, and I felt that they were a family firm that really cared for the people who worked for them. Their core values are something that I subscribe to. I've been with them 10 years and that says a lot in today's construction world.
If you want to develop your career and you want to really consider seriously your own professional development individually, you couldn't look for a better type of company than Osborne to work for because they are very much geared to developing individuals as well as the teams.
