Group Board

Our Group Board is made up of senior industry figures with a wealth of experience in the construction, manufacturing, and private development, along with representatives of the Osborne family and financial specialists. It steers the company towards an ever-improving customer service and high-quality technical standards without losing sight of Geoffrey Osborne’s ethos.

Andrew Osborne – Chairman

Andrew ensures we have a sustainable family business that places long-term relationships over short term gains and the quality of our work over the volume of sales.  Andrew passionately believes in leaving a positive legacy which benefits the communities that are impacted by our works, setting cultural standards that are expected by the Osborne family.  He personally welcomes all people joining Osborne and his regular site tours reinforce the importance of our culture to all. Andrew provides our customers with long term accountability and takes great personal pride in all projects that we deliver and maintain.

During his long association with the business Andrew has undertaken the roles of Group Finance Director and Chief Executive before becoming Chairman in 2012.  He is vice-Chair of the Institute of Family Business, and in 2021 retired as a trustee and Chairman of WellChild after 10 years.  Andrew was a non-executive Director of Charter International PLC from 2005 to 2012, is a Chartered Accountant and has a degree in Engineering Science from Oxford University.

Dave Smith – Group Chief Executive

Dave is a highly experienced construction professional with over 40 years in the industry, Dave has been instrumental in building and leading successful privately owned and plc’s businesses. Dave brings a wealth of experience including leading award-winning corporate responsibility and sustainability programmes.

Previous roles include Non-Executive Chairman for the Claritas Group. Chief Operating Officer and Construction MD at Wates and Managing Director positions at McLaren Group and Balfour Beatty.

Peter Duff – Chief Operating and Finance Officer

Pete is a graduate of Pembroke College, Cambridge and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Prior to Osborne he trained with Deloitte and managed one of the firm’s largest audit groups in London before taking on senior finance roles in Network Rail, Balfour Beatty and then as European Finance Director at Laing O’Rourke. He has over 25 years of leadership around construction, property and infrastructure with a track record of improving business performance, governance and control. He also brings experience around modern methods of construction and the manufacturing arena.

Michael Strong – Non-Executive Director

Michael served as Executive Chairman for EMEA at CBRE Group, from 2001 until 2015, and CEO and President of EMEA from 2005 until 2012. During his 40 years in the commercial property market, he has gained extensive first-hand experience in advising customers on a wide variety of major development, investment, and leasing projects. He has been Non-Executive Director at NHS Property Services Ltd. since February 2016.
