British Gas Business and Osborne announce innovative partnership to deliver social housing improvements

This is the first partnership of this type designed to deliver improvements thousands of homes across the UK.

The aim is to deliver energy efficiency measures to social housing in London and the South East by bringing together Osborne’s expertise in long term asset management projects and British Gas’ funding and energy efficiency capability.

The partnership will work closely with social housing providers to take a strategic, inclusive and cohesive approach aimed to reduce energy costs for residents and tackle fuel poverty by improving energy efficiency across their portfolios. This approach will deliver outstanding resident engagement and wider community benefits through new training and employment opportunities.

Social landlords will be able to use an asset management approach that strategically delivers energy efficiency improvements and which can be introduced based upon the needs of the resident and the properties across their housing stock. A key focus will be to deliver improvements within minimal disturbance to tenants, maximise all inward investment and focus on behavioural change to leave a legacy of understanding within resident groups.
