Marcon Place Highly Commended at Network Rail Partnership Awards
We are delighted to announce that the Marcon Place Underbridge Reconstruction project was Highly Commended in this year’s Network Rail Partnership Awards for ‘Best Medium Project Category’.
The £3.5 million bridge reconstruction contract was negotiated with the Network Rail Anglia team in October last year, and the main works were completed in a 99 hour blockade over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. The project consisted of the replacement of the seven independent rail bridges which support the four tracks and four platforms over Marcon Place at Hackney Downs Station.
The ceremony which took place on the 24th July at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London, was attended by some very big names in the industry. The Awards, now in their fifth year, were created by Network Rail to reward the great partnerships that exist within the rail industry – helping to build a better railway for a better Britain.
