Osborne’s station success at Preston Park

Great projects are not just about a well-designed end result, but about the journey we at Osborne undertook to get there; meeting the needs of our customers and the local community.

At Preston Park station near Brighton, Osborne has recently undertaken a series of works to install an illuminated drivers’ walking route from the station to the recently completed sidings. Due to the difficulty in accessing the site and to ensure the works were completed for First Capital Connect (FCC) within the six week programme (which meant that track possessions were not available), all materials had to be brought in by hand.

Along with this success for FCC, we received some excellent feedback from local resident, Steve Sparks, who wrote to us about his experience of living near to an Osborne project:

“We’re often quick to complain as residents when these sorts of projects come our way. I’d like to place on record that in the 20 odd years we’ve lived here, this has been the best managed project we’ve come across. You were sympathetic to the needs of residents in placing your welfare facilities; you’ve protected our trees as much as possible; and the men working on site have been polite, clean and tidy.”

“The letter you sent this week was the best we’ve ever seen in terms of being clear, informative and transparent. Osborne have always been the easiest contractors to work with as residents and this time you’ve done even better than usual. Many thanks to you and your team.”
