Osborne Walk the Talk

Work to connect utility services and lay new paving to footpaths around the majority of Southampton University’s Mayflower Halls development will be completed on Sunday 6 July.

The work required the temporary diversion of traffic from Commercial Road via Blechynden Terrace which has been very successful. The work also required coordination with the City Council’s multi-million pound Station Quarter improvement works, both developments are important to the growth of the city and it has been a great example of collaboration.

Mayflower Halls, which has been constructed by Osborne on behalf of the University of Southampton, will be completed for this September’s influx of students and will accommodate over 1000 apartments. This will contribute to the growth in local services, to growth of the University and of the city as a whole. The new apartments will also help to reduce the pressure on private housing within Southampton.
