Osborne’s Fred Mills Wins Achiever of the Year
Osborne is delighted to offer its congratulations to Fred Mills, Bid Manager in its Construction sector, who has won the prestigious Achiever of the Year title at this year’s Constructing Excellence in London and the South East Awards.
Held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Thursday 3 July, the awards recognise outstanding people, projects and companies who have delivered improvements in all-round performance through collaborative working, and have a real desire to make a difference.
Fred has had numerous successes in his two years with Osborne. He has made a significant contribution to improving the strength and quality of the order book, which now sees a win rate of one in three, compared to one in eight just three years ago. Some of his particular project achievements have included the Potters Gate Primary School and Cupernham Infant and Junior School.
As a thought leader in Building Information Modelling (BIM), Fred has been paving the way over the past 12 months (both inside and outside of Osborne) with his initiative the BIM One Million, also known as the B1M. This is a collaborative platform for sharing experiences in implementing BIM, providing a definitive video resource to inspire a million people to help mobilise BIM adoption around the world. You can view the B1M here: www.theB1M.com
Fred’s passion for BIM has also been reflected in his work with Osborne. Using his BIM network, he identified funding available to support training in the use of BIM for Osborne’s supply chain; an area that had been recognized for development. As such, Osborne became the first company to utilize this innovative scheme.
Rennie Chadwick, Osborne’s Director of Design and IT, commented: “All of us at Osborne are extremely proud of what Fred has achieved in his time with us. We are all delighted to see Fred receive this level of recognition. It proves that when you combine hard work, technical expertise and enthusiasm with vision, innovation and a desire to help others succeed, great things happen.”
