Osborne Has Got a Lot of Bottle

Osborne and the pupils of the Osborne School in Winchester have been collecting two litre drinks bottles over the past few months, to make a brand new greenhouse, and this week saw the final big build with our Property Services team on hand to help.

The special needs school already has a horticultural garden, and the introduction of the greenhouse will enable them to grow a larger amount of fruit and vegetables to serve in the school canteen. As such, not only has this saved the school costs in creating a greenhouse and removed the risk of glass, but it has also introduced the students to recycling initiatives, with over a thousand bottles recycled!

Proving that life in plastic is fantastic, the school were even able to get involved in the build, further encouraging the students’ confidence in teamwork, maths and planning skills.

Neal Allison, Community Investment Manager, explained, “It’s wonderful to have delivered a project which has involved recycling waste materials, to provide a useful facility for the school and in which the pupils, staff and parents have participated so enthusiastically.”.
