Osborne Out and About

Osborne has been out and about in the community supporting its customers across the country, ably supported by its new mascot, Rosie.

Children from Isleworth Town Primary School took part in a safety poster competition, where they got the chance to get creative and design their own safety poster, with Rosie proving to be a true inspiration donned in full protective clothing. Winners were chosen from every year group before the lucky overall winner was announced. The Mayor of Hounslow, Cllr Corinna Smart and Rosie the mascot were on hand to present the voucher prizes and certificates.

Bringing local communities together, the Osborne Ascham contract working with Joseph Clarke School wanted to create an environment that would stimulate and engage the pupils, and this was in the form of sensory boards.  Using recycled wood, the Osborne team created numerous boards to be positioned in the playground, allowing access for all the pupils to feel the engraved shapes. The shapes varied from animals to sea creatures to wildlife.

Osborne and Rosie have also been working with The Osborne School in Winchester. The Osborne School required bespoke outdoor furniture which would accommodate wheelchair users. With Osborne working in partnership with Riverwood – Greenwich Mencap’s wood workshop in Woolwich where people with learning disabilities get to build on their practical and social skills – a new design was implemented. Osborne then transported the furniture to the school, ready for the students to get creative and make their mark, with Rosie on hand to help!

Osborne launched its new mascot earlier this month, a year on from its rebrand from a traditional blue to a vibrant magenta, and Rosie has been helping to reflect these bold brand characteristics.
