“Walk this Way”- Osborne Safety Improvement at the University of Roehampton

Osborne is always looking to improve safety and ways of working on their sites for their employees and customers.A safety visit to one of our sites at the University of Roehampton recently showed we had made a small improvement which made a big difference to safety around the site.

We had put in place new walkway matting which has been used on the footpath from the welfare facilities to the site.  The matting which can be used inside or outside, is simple to assemble, is lightweight and put in place using an interlocking system.  The matting has a soft PVC top surface for anti-slip protection even when wet, which is suitable for all types of footwear including leather soles and heeled shoes. This could also be used in the future to help other sites that need to improve safety in walk ways.

A spokesman for the University said: “We’re pleased Osborne takes the safety of its staff inside the construction site as seriously as it does in the wider public areas near the building works. Small common sense changes can make all the difference in avoiding accidents.”
