Osborne Shortlisted for a National Housing Award

The development Railton Place has been shortlisted in the category of Best Large Development at the National Housing Awards 2015.

Osborne worked in partnership with Paragon, Elmbridge Borough Council, English Heritage, Brooklands Museum and HCA and completed the project in May 2014.

With huge housing demand in Weybridge, and average property values of £814k, affordable housing is difficult to provide. The shared-ownership homes have helped 24 local buyers afford shares, starting from 25% – as little as £52,000.

Funded without grant, the innovative development at Railton Place provides 24 homes for social rent and 24 shared-ownership apartments. Situated in one of the most expensive postcodes in the UK, these affordable homes have allowed local people to remain close to family and social networks.  The sensitive design revived a contaminated conservation area next to Brooklands historic motor-racing circuit and restored a scheduled ancient monument – part of the world’s first purpose-built racetrack.

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 10 September at the Lancaster Hotel in London.
