Osborne Completes Refurbishment in Central London

Osborne has completed work renovating two railway arches in Vauxhall, Central London.

The £400,000 project saw Osborne carry out a shell and core refurbishment, installing new shop fronts in both arches under the railway line by Vauxhall Station, one of the busiest stations in Central London.

The arches have been completed with a bare brick finish, highlighting the original craftsmanship of the structure and this is complemented by new shop fronts that incorporate a Smart glazing system with bi-folding doors.

The finishing touch saw Osborne design, fabricate and install a LED strip lighting system that runs along the outline of the arch reflecting onto and enhancing the look of the brickwork.

With positive feedback from the customer, Osborne is taking the lessons learnt during this project and using them on the next phase of works, which will see Osborne deliver a replica of the scheme on neighbouring arches.

Osborne Project Manager Gemma Gay said: “Railway arches, like the ones we’re refurbishing, are not only a fantastic way to maximise available space in the City but are also marvels of engineering.  As they represent a traditional form of infrastructure they are an extremely desirable location in which to work.”
