Osborne Bags Silver Award at Considerate Constructors Scheme

Chamberlain Halls, a £24m student accommodation project for the University of Southampton, picked up a Silver award at the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) 2017 National Site Awards.
Chamberlain Halls, in Southampton, was completed in September 2016, and the new five blocks of 351 beds were handed over in time for the new academic term.

The safety of employees, students and the public was paramount throughout as the project was situated in the heart of the University’s occupied Glen Eyre campus.

The project scored 45 out of 50 on its second audit from the CCS with the auditor stating that, “the degree of commitment to site safety and welfare remains exceptional, and the contractor’s efforts in this respect are to be commended. The site really is a talisman for best practice, and the efforts of the site management personnel and all those associated with the project are to be applauded. Very well done to the Project Manager, his team and all those associated with the scheme.”
