Minor Works Team Finish Surrey Station in Record Time

The Osborne Minor Works Team has been praised for their recent completed work at Merstham Station in Surrey as they finished platform adjustments in record time for their customer. This allowed the Flying Scotsman to fly through to its final destination via East Grinstead.
Customer praise included:
“We have just had confirmation that the Flying Scotsman can now pass Merstham at 30 mph. Would just like to say many thanks for the quick turn around on this one and the effort put in by yourselves and your contractors New Approach to make this possible.”
Russell Lockett, Works Delivery Manager, Buildings & Civils -South East Route, Network Rail

“As you know the clearance work at Merstham was critical and to hear the work has been done to allow the Flying Scotsman to pass through the station will be welcome news at exec level.  Thanks to you and your teams.”
Graham Richards, Senior Asset Manager, South East Route

Further good news for the Minor Works team included them, recently securing a further year extension to their reactive building maintenance contract framework in the Sussex and Wessex routes and for their minor civils maintenance contract in Sussex.

Having been involved in this work across the southern rail routes for over 15 years, this highlights Osborne as being the contractor of choice for this critical work and placing them in a strong position for the award of the new frameworks expected in a year’s time. The contract will see Osborne deliver a comprehensive 24hr reactive maintenance programme, helping keep the railways safe for passengers.

This success comes after the Minor Works Team received some great feedback earlier this year from their customer, Network Rail, as they helped them to solve their problems.
