Great Girl Graduate!

Graduate Engineer, Safia Whitwham, was recently selected to attend a discussion with Professor Tim Boyd, President of ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers).
Safia was invited to the London event due to the great work she has been doing with the ICE Graduates and Students Group.

Next year ICE will be 200 years old and to mark this momentous occasion there will be many events run throughout the year.

Safia has also become part of the London ICE 200 Oversight group; who will help plan and organise London’s programme of events throughout 2018. Safia will be part of the group, which sports other industry heavyweights, such as Atkins and Skanska. Safia will be integral to generating ideas for activities, events and media content as well as assisting in the organisation of venues and speakers.

The events will focus on how civil infrastructure transforms peoples’ lives and encouraging the next generation into the profession. Safia was instrumental to an event last year which brought together 20 graduates, students and technicians, to discuss the theme of “Career Opportunities” and routes to becoming a Civil Engineer.
