Building on Success in Hemel Hempstead

Osborne was delighted to support the Building Services Student Awards at West Herts College last week.
The Awards, which were presented at the College’s brand new Hemel Hempstead campus, were the first for the department and aim to celebrate the achievements of its students.

Osborne Property Services were proud sponsors of the Participation in Work Experience award, which went to Owen Hedger.  Owen, who completed a work experience placement with Osborne last year, has gone on to secure an apprenticeship at Watford Football Ground carrying out site maintenance.  On presenting him with his award, Osborne’s Community Investment Coordinator, Hannah Bailey, said:

“Having got to know Owen during his time with us on work experience it was a privilege to present him with his award for Participation in Work Experience. His proactive approach to learning was really great to see and we were so proud to hear he has now got himself an apprenticeship, which is thoroughly deserved.”

Another Osborne work experience student, Isla Barnard who is going on to study Level 3 Civil Engineering next year, won the Best Student Award.

Osborne sees the link with the college as a vital one. As Hannah explains:

“With our industry facing a huge skills shortage it is essential that we work with schools and colleges to prepare and engage with our future workforce. Together, we have been able to communicate key messages for students about what employers, like us, will be looking for and we look forward to continuing our work with them next year.”
