Osborne Lands £85m Solum Projects

Osborne has recently been appointed by Solum, a partnership between Network Rail and Kier Property, to commence work on two major projects, delivering over 190 apartments and creating significant investment at the stations they are based at.
In Twickenham, transformation plans will see the station extended and remodelled around a brand new public plaza. The station will feature lifts to the platforms, improvements to the pedestrian walkway, a significantly larger ticket office and additional cycle spaces. The new plaza will include new shops and create a modern gateway to Twickenham, and will include the creation of 115 new apartments.

Meanwhile, at Walthamstow Central Station, Phase II of the Walthamstow Gateway project is underway comprising 79 new apartments above the station car park, improvements to the station environment and the pedestrian link to Queen’s Road Station.

John Craig, Managing Director for Construction at Osborne said; “These two projects fit very well with our business strategy. Our goal is to work with forward thinking customers such as Solum who recognise the importance and value of a collaborative approach in creating high quality mixed-use developments, and in safely managing the associated operational railway risks.”

Commenting on the progress made to date, Candis Scudder, senior project manager for Solum said:
“Working with Osborne, we are pleased to be bringing forward these two projects in London, which will deliver high quality mixed-use destinations at train stations and provide much needed new homes.”
