Osborne Broadens Development Arm

David Walters joined Osborne at the end of 2017 to broaden the group’s investment and development activities into the Private Rented Sector (PRS).

In recent years, Osborne Development has been able to utilise the company’s strong financial standing and cash resources for direct investment.  The development business has demonstrated the significant time and cost benefits of the integrated platform of skills, through the direct development and investment of over 3,000 student beds; Osborne is looking to replicate this success in the Private Rented Sector.

David Walters commented: “There is clear demand from both investors and customers for new purpose built rental housing in the UK, but there is a lack of sustainable PRS housing supply to meet this demand.  One of the greatest opportunities to address this lack of supply is the potential for more integrated construction and delivery solutions to improve efficiency.  We will be seeking opportunities to utilise our development platform to build, retain or sell both purpose built rental houses or apartments, delivering construction efficiencies for the benefit of both the Osborne group and new partners.”

David has joined Osborne as Head of PRS from Grainger plc (one of the largest UK residential landlords).  After nearly 15 years he decided to leave Grainger to pursue a new challenge.

His previous role was as the Director of development partnerships where he established and managed their urban partnerships and PRS direct development activities.
