Innovare Shortlist for School in Offsite Project of the Year 2018
The team at Innovaré are delighted to learn that the Greatfields School project has been shortlisted for Offsite Project of the Year for the West Midlands 2018 Celebrating Construction Awards.
Working together as One Team, Mid Group, Surface to Air Architects and Innovaré created a unique design combining PCC floors with the i-SIP Full Structure System to deliver Zone 1 of the scheme. By turning the construction ‘on its side’ i.e. instead of masonry walls with timber floors, we have successfully delivered thermally efficient, SIP structure with masonry floors which has reduced expected capital and life-time costs by a predicted 50%.
The Greatfields school project was delivered more than 50% faster than the other build methods proposed, enabling pupils to occupy their new learning facility earlier than planned.
Winners will be announced at the West Midlands Celebrating Construction Awards 2018, rewarding the very best in the Midlands built environment at the ICC, on 13 April 2018.
