Osborne Communities Raise Funds for Local Services

With hot coals, leg waxing and plenty of cakes, our Osborne Communities Team has been busy raising over £2300 for local services.

Mount Vernon Specialist Cancer Centre provides high quality treatment and care for patients and their families. Over 5,000 new patients are registered each year and the centre prides itself on staying at the forefront with the latest technology.

A number of our colleagues at Dacorum have a personal connection with the charity and when they heard that the centre was raising money for the Ambulatory Care and Blood Gas unit, Serena and Will led a month of fundraising.

Events included a charity wax, a used book sale, a ‘Predict the Score’ initiative and a ‘Wear it Pink’ day with an incredible £1020 being raised. The team visited Mount Vernon recently to hand over the money and had the chance to see first-hand where the money would be used.

It was then time to turn up the heat with a team from Osborne and our partners at Dacorum Borough Council joining other local businesses to walk on fire for The Collett School.

The Special Educational Needs School promotes the abilities in disability and has a mission for all of their pupils to ‘thrive in life’. Due to their success and growing number of pupils, the school are continually fundraising to provide more specialist equipment, classroom space and everyday materials for the children. After an induction and training session from organisers BLAZE Firewalking, the fearless feet took to the coals one by one and made it to the other side. Our team raised a huge £1300 and will be visiting the school soon to present the cheque.

Osborne Account Director James Quy said: “It has been amazing to watch the enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment of the partnership to raise money for such worthy local causes.
“We place great importance on giving back to the communities in which we work and to see where the money will be going has been very special.”
