M25 Cyclists ride from Spain to France for Charity

Members of the M25 Community, including Osborne and Connect Plus employees took part in a charity cycle ride from Barcelona to Beziers last weekend.

Over 3 days, 26 riders, 2 rider/drivers and 2 drivers cycled 300 miles between the two cities, over the Pyrenees.

The route was pretty tough, and unlike the Bank Holiday weekend in the UK, the weather was not ideal for cycling on Friday and Saturday, especially at 2000m, so conditions were tough and the support crews and vans were definitely needed!

Phil Fouche (support driver) and Jamie Harrison (support driver and part-time cyclist) both took part in aid of Beat SCAD, a charity who’s mission is to increase awareness of a coronary condition that is currently under-diagnosed. Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) affects mainly women; many SCADs occur during or soon after pregnancy. One of the support driver’s wives suffers from this condition and had her first heart attack aged 39.

In support of this event, the team took two vans full of bikes from the UK, driving some 2379 miles.  Well done all!
