Serving up memories

Osborne teamed up with TACT (Tenant’s and Council Together), Winchester City Council and Tesco to serve up a trip down memory lane with a 1940’s Tea Party for over 50 senior residents last month.

The event, hosted by TACT, was organised to help reduce social isolation and give residents an opportunity to share memories and socialise.

Twyford Village hall was dressed up in posters and decorations from the era, whilst a jeep parked outside perfectly complemented the theme.

Council apprentices served cream tea and sandwiches whilst residents were entertained with a selection of 40’s hits sung by Amy Baker and the surprise appearance of a ukulele band, before Osborne held a raffle with donated prizes.

One attendee, Margret, said: “I very much enjoyed today. Thank Winchester City Council, Osborne and Tesco, it was very entertaining.”

Whilst another enthusiastic guest said: “Many thanks to everyone who arranged the event. It was a lovely afternoon and generous of the Council to support it. I don’t feel left out anymore.”
