Local Councillors visit Slough Partnership

Local Councillors representing wards across Slough visited the shared premises of Osborne and Slough Borough Council at Hawker House earlier this month to discover the benefits the partnership is bringing to the area.

Last December, Osborne Communities began a £100m, 7 year contract with the Council to provide a wide range of services to over 7,000 homes including repairs, compliance, voids and caretaking.
Councillor Sabia Hussain, Deputy Leader of the Council, Councillor Balvinder Bains , Councillor Dilbagh Parmar, Councillor Waqas Sabah and Councillor Mohammed Nazir, Cabinet Member for

Corporate Finance & Housing , were welcomed by Osborne Communities Account Director Sarah Delaney, Slough Borough Council Service Lead for Neighbourhood Services, John Griffiths and

Slough Borough Council Neighbourhood Services Contracts & Business Services Manager, Kamal Lallian.

The visit began with a tour of the building to learn more about the co-location approach which provides a positive, collaborative working environment designed to provide residents with the best possible service.

Throughout the tour the Councillors met Osborne and Council staff, hearing how the partnership works together to understand and invest in the local community, honouring its commitment to provide education, employment and skills opportunities.

The Councillors were then asked to present certificates to 14 members of staff across the partnership that have recently completed ABBE accredited training in diagnosing defects and ordering repairs.

Following lunch, the Councillors received a presentation on the partnership before having time for further questions and discussion.

Sarah Delaney, Account Director at Osborne Communities, said: “Thanks to co-location and a positive, collaborative approach our partnership with Slough Borough Council has already become truly embedded in the local area. Working side-by-side with the council we aim to continuously improve, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do to deliver an outstanding service and providing opportunities that benefit the wider community.”
