Osborne scoops Gold and Silver Award from Network Rail

All that glitters can indeed be golden as Osborne has been bestowed gold honours from Network Rail, for its top scoring sites at Feltham Platform extension and Pirbright and Brookwood.

Osborne also scooped Silver for its Wessex Earthworks in Sway in Dorset.

Route to Gold is a performance measurement initiative which aims to promote collaborative working behaviours, reduce costs caused by re-work and embed a culture of continuous improvement within the rail industry. Network Rail scores their supply chain on the quality of products delivered, on projects and the behaviours associated with these.

Feltham platform extension is the top scoring site for the second period in a row.  The level crossing at Feltham is one of the most dangerous and misused crossings.
The works include two footbridges being demolished and shutting the level crossing, works are due to be completed in November 2019. The team have implemented health and wellbeing initiatives onsite including gym equipment and CPR/ defibrillator training.

Martin Ford, Senior Construction Manager, Network Rail said “The team at Feltham have been working hard over the last month to progress with the installation of the additional entrance. This includes pouring the main slab, pouring bases, installing drainage and erecting the Macemain shelter. A second defibrillator has also arrived on site, which is taken by the site supervisor to the working areas. The onsite gym is now fully operational allowing all staff to take a break from work, enhancing their health and wellbeing. Well done to the team”.
