Osborne Communities hold Supplier Engagement Day

Osborne Communities held a Supplier Engagement day recently at its Optivo contract in Hastings, which was attended by over 60 people from local businesses.

A key aim of the partnership is to work with local suppliers and contribute to employment opportunities to help create a thriving community.

The engagement day, which was  held at our joint office in Hastings, gave local trades and suppliers the opportunity to meet with us to understand the scope of works we have on offer and see how we go about our work.

Hosted alongside procurement and supply chain management service provider Construction Line, the event opened with a networking and breakfast roles, followed by presentations outlining the scope of works across the contract, expectations and our working culture.  The opportunity to speak to individuals after the presentation proved invaluable with positive conversation about future opportunities.

David Harris, Senior Account Manager for Osborne Property Services said: “Thanks to co-location and a positive, collaborative approach our partnership with Optivo, has already become truly embedded in the local area. We are fully committed in supporting local businesses and hoped everyone took away some learning from the engagement day.”

Naomi Mileham, Employment Support Manager at Optivo said: “The event was a great opportunity to share Optivo’s expectations of our supply chain and the importance of employment support provision to local people. I was really encouraged by the number of contractors who are engaged with this approach and want to assist with our social responsibility work.”
