After months of preparation and stakeholder management our team at the Romsey Road Bridge have successfully delivered their second major milestone in the replacement of this life-expired structure.
During a weekend closure of the M27, the new bridge deck was driven into place using remotely controlled self-propelled modular transporters. Thanks to their meticulous planning, the team managed to complete the works and re-open the motorway to the public 36 hours early and minimise disruption to the travelling public.
Our team received much deserved praise from our customer and the local residents:
“I am so proud of you all. It’s been an amazing achievement by you all throughout the build up to the weekend. I certainly hope you get your well-deserved rest and reflect on the legacy you are leaving behind. Thank you for making my job so worthwhile!!!”
“Many many thanks for the super job you did of getting the bridge deck exactly in place last weekend. I am particularly grateful for the fact that we were able to reopen the motorway much earlier than expected. This applies equally to Osborne, Kier and the supply chain.”
“As a resident living close to this Bridge can I please express my admiration at the speedy and thorough way the recent installation of the New Bridge span was carried out… You should rightfully be applauded for not only the speed and quality of your work…, but for the quality of the information provided in your letter updates.”
Congratulations to the whole team for this significant achievement.
