Residents enjoy a family funday this summer!

The Osborne team joined local residents from Highfield, Hemel Hempstead at the Annual Community Centre Family Funday, and bringing people together from local area.

The event was packed with a variety of stalls and entertainment for all ages and families. There were lots of attractions which included a petting farm, balloon artist, magician, various raffles and tombola’s.

In attendance were a number of local organisations such as DENS (A charity supporting those facing homelessness in Hemel Hempstead), St Francis Hospice and us.

Team members from DBC were on hand to inform the local community of the many services the council provides, such as the Tenant Academy and Tenant Inspectors.

A vast number of people directly engaged with us, with many local residents signing up to workshops at the Council’s Tenant Academy, or for further information on how to become a Tenant Inspector.

The Tenant Academy is located at our offices in Dacorum, and residents can attend a number of courses to develop new skills, improve health and wellbeing or prepare for further education. We have held courses in bricklaying, decorating and basic DIY skills, all of which have been very successful.

We also took the opportunity to promote the Osborne Apprentice Recruitment event which is taking place on Tuesday 10th September.

The event is part of a number of community activities we have been getting involved in over the summer as part of our tailored Community Investment Plan for Dacorum Borough Council which creates local social values.
