New River Bridge Improvement Scheme in Hoddesdon

An event took place yesterday to mark the start of construction at the New River Bridge improvement scheme in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.

The new scheme will significantly improve the road network resilience for the Hoddesdon Business Park, increasing access capacity, preventing collisions and to cope with the impact of breakdowns and maintenance.

The heavy rush traffic along with breakdown incidents can cause significant delays to HGV’s entering and departing the trading estate. The proposed widened road will allow HGVs to pass more efficiently and improve safety for all road users including pedestrian and cyclist access, which is vital to the economy of Hoddesdon and this thriving and growing trading estate

Project Manager, Jon Millar commented:

“We are committed to ensuring that the works are undertaken as efficiently and effectively as possible to ensure the least amount of disruption possible to local businesses and residents.”
