Back Together Again

Osborne were so pleased to play a part in welcoming the members of the Winchester Young Carers back to together, following the lifting of government restrictions.

This event was one of the first non-virtual activities where young carers were able to come together and enjoy seeing their friends in person, breaking away from their day-to-day caring responsibilities.

Winchester and District Young Carers mission is to improve the lives of children and young people with caring responsibilities by providing safe, quality support to individuals and offering an inclusive and holistic approach which considers the needs of the whole family. The charity offers 1:1 support, activities, days out and a wide range of support.

The half term social gathering for the young carers involved an active paper egg hunt. In small groups the young people had to solve clues and riddles before moving on to the next, as well as taking part in a photo challenge along the route. With lots of chirpy laughter crossing the finishing line, the young carers returned to their club for a healthy snack and drinks before continuing with some more games.

Vicky Fordham-Lewis commented ‘We know how valuable Winchester Young Carers is to its members and coming together after lockdown is a party that I know Neal, our Community Investment Manager, wouldn’t have missed. We look forward to supporting further events over the coming months’.
