It’s Kick Off Time in Slough

Osborne went along to Mencap in Slough earlier in the week, where they donated ‘table football’ for their service users to play with.

Mencap Slough have been providing services to it members for many years. Like many other clubs across the country, they have had to close their doors for almost a year whilst we work through the pandemic. This has meant that its service users have not been able to meet regularly, leaving them without a safe and secure place to socialise and interact with their with friends. However, with the restrictions lifting, Eleanor Cryer, Chair of Mencap Slough is excited to be preparing to welcome back her amazing members.

Eleanor Cryer, Chair Mencap Slough commented: ‘This has been a long and difficult year for so many of us, for so many reasons. I have truly missed meeting regularly with my members and I am really looking forward to welcoming them back and seeing their smiles and hearing their laughter. They will be thrilled to have a new activity which will create some great team work amongst them’.

Ellie Newby, Repairs and Voids Manager, Slough Borough Council said: ‘Table football is such a great game to play with friends. It can be fast, furious and competitive but most of all just really good fun. We hope the football table gets lots of use and helps people who have been separated from friends because of the pandemic, reconnect. We are so pleased it is going to put to good use.”
