Team Osborne Run Reigate for Stripey Stork

Team Osborne are dusting off their running shoes from lockdown, to join Run Reigate in support for charity partner, Stripey Stork.

The annual running event which takes place on Sunday 19th September in Priory Park Reigate attracts hundreds of keen runners who can choose from either a half marathon, 10k or 5k run, with kids being able to take place in their own run.

We are keeping tabs on our runners as they are limbering up for Run Reigate to raise awareness and funds for Stripey Stork. The local charity collects donations of toys, clothes, and other essential items for babies and children. These items are rehomed to local families facing hardship. During the pandemic, Stripey Stork worked tirelessly to keep up with the rising need for their service.

Niko Sapounas, our Supply Chain Manager is one of the team members running, ‘It will be my 3rd time participating in Run Reigate, and my goal is to finish the 10K in under 1 hour. This time, it will be a great opportunity to give back to the community via supporting the charity chosen by Osborne. Also, the training required for this event will be a great motivator to improve my health and fitness lifestyle further.’

Developments Financial Controller, John Fernandez will be taking on the challenge of the half marathon, ‘You don’t have to look far in the news to see how charities have struggled through the pandemic, so I saw this as a great opportunity to help Stripey Stork in a very real way. I’m thinking that setting a target time might be pushing it a little, given my distinct lack of movement over the last 18 or so months. I’ll just be happy to get around the whole course!’

And lastly, newly appointed Communications Coordinator, Esther Pellow will also be running the 10k, ‘The work Stripey Stork does is incredible. They are supporting families and ensuring they have access to the resources they need. These have been trying times and Stripey Stork has done all it can to support the ever-growing numbers of families needing to use their service. Hoping to use this (ever-looming) event to motivate me to get back into running and raise some money for a great cause!’
