Open Doors 2021 at Ashbridge in Westminster City Council

We will be holding our Open Doors event at our Ashbridge site this year. Currently, we are building 26 affordable homes at the Ashbridge site for our client Westminster City Council. This forms part of a larger residential development incorporating three 3 sites, creating 77 new affordable homes for Westminster City Council. All projects are scheduled to be completed by 2022.

Open Doors allows us to show young people the varied career opportunities available to them in our sector. We will share an insight into the day-to-day running of a live working site. Included in the day will be a talk from our Chairman, Andrew Osborne and Business Development Manager, Andy Burrows. Both share a passion for attracting new talent into our exciting and fast paced industry.

In 2018 we recruited Ahmed Warsama from our Open Doors event. He has since graduated up the ranks and is now an Assistant Site Manager on this development. Ahmed describes his Open Doors experience:

‘My first point of contact with Osborne was through the Open Doors initiative with the Association of Somali Engineers (ASE). ASE is a non-profit organisation I am proud to be part of, that has been working to build a network between young Somali graduates/students and Somali professionals. The Redbrick estate was the first Osborne site I had visited in March 2018. A New build community centre, with 2 retail units and 55 flats over 3 separate blocks. What engaged me was how enthusiastic and friendly the project team was. They were all proud of how long they had worked for Osborne and the challenges they had to overcome with the company. We were given a fantastic site tour and the site team was eager to answer all our questions.’

Osborne is eager to meet the new influx of young people who are as excited about construction as we are. Please register your place by clicking on ‘Open Doors’ link. Look forward to seeing you there.
