Osborne local event in Support of International Men’s Day

In celebration of International Men’s Day, Osborne worked with Slough Borough Council, Abri, and Local Councillor for Foxborough Ward in Slough Madhuri Bedi to host a celebration afternoon called: ‘Boys to Men to Grandad.’ The event was held at Redwood House in Slough and offered men of all ages the opportunity to socialise over a fish and chip lunch and to take part in some fun activities. We also had Slough Library, Ways into Work, and Get Active in attendance to highlight how attendees could access services in their local area that would assist with their health and well-being.

The event was a great success, with many attendees from the local area and a lot of conversation exchanged. When surveyed, the majority of attendees confirmed they would be interested in a regular social group as they thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon. Proving, what a success the afternoon was.

At Osborne, we want to ensure we are doing all we can to promote physical and mental well-being, especially after the unprecedented couple of years we have had. Therefore taking part and supporting events, such as this one, is a priority to us.

Councillor Madhuri Bedi: It was heart-warming to see such a wonderful turnout with men of all ages attending. Some men knew each other, others did not. Yet everyone came together in what was an incredibly pleasant and welcoming afternoon. Thank you to all those involved, including Osborne for providing a Fish and Chip Lunch to make the day feel special.
